The Solis 59PX comes equipped with an onboard propane tank that holds 5.9 gallons or 24.2 pounds of propane.
Once the indicator light on the control panel shows an “E” it’s time to get that tank filled up.
For a more precise reading, there’s also a manual gauge mounted directly on the tank. This is super helpful if you want to double-check levels before a big trip or if you need to give an exact number to the propane filling attendant of how much propane is needed.
Where to Fill the Propane Tank
Refilling is easy. You can take the vehicle to any propane filling station—including most U-Haul moving and storage centers, which usually offer propane services for RVs. Make sure the filling station can accommodate RV’s and has the appropriate fittings to fill the tank.
Tank and Valve Locations
- The propane tank inlet valve (where the tank is filled) is located on the passenger side of the van, under the sliding door.
- The propane tank itself is mounted under the van on the driver’s side, also near the center of the vehicle.
To fill the tank, simply park the vehicle with the passenger side close to the fill station, turn off the engine and give the attendant the level reading. It usually takes just a few minutes to fill the tank and you’re back on the road.

Final Tips
- Always double-check that the valves are tightly closed after refilling.
- If you’re unsure or new to this, ask the attendant at the propane station for help—most are happy to walk you through it.
- It’s best to travel with the propane tank switch in the off position for safety and to comply with restrictions while passing over some bridges and through some tunnels.
Happy travels!
